jeff ott of fifteen has a new album out. its a solo accustic thing i guess. i was always on the fence about that band, but i have really come to appreciate what they talked/sung about. has anyone heard that album yet?? phil??, wolf??
Posted by larry at November 17, 2003 08:29 AMTo be honest, I haven't really heard anything by Fifteen/Jeff Ott since the album "Extra Medium Kickball Star." I liked Fifteen (and I have fond memories of their show in Moorhead), but I figured after I owned Duct Tape Soup by Crimpshrine, I'd have all the Ott-ness I'd ever need. It all sounds very much the same to me. I think I remember reading that he's doing acoustic-type stuff now though.
Posted by: Phil on November 17, 2003 09:03 AMYeah, my Fifteen/Jeff Ott phase ended a long long time ago. It's good stuff, but Phil's right -- all you need is that Crimpshrine CD. He can do no better than that - ever.
Posted by: Scott on November 17, 2003 11:13 AMthis thread reminded of something:
when 'at the drive in' played the d.i.y. center and stayed at the 805 for a couple of days, i got to swa p songs w/ their bass player. and he LOVED jeff ott. he claimed that jeff would go to a park or public square in san fran and play just about anything on an accoustic guitar and it was amazing. this was almost 10 years ago. i haven't heard jeff's accoustic stuff but because of that conversation i had w/ that guy, i would like to.
