i was just informed by my mother that we will be making lefse the weekend that i get back. by the way, i worked at the lefse factory in that link. now, most lefse that you buy in the stores is made with powdered potatoes, and yes, you can tell the differance. anthony, if you are lucky i will let you have some icelandic pancakes with me, if you are really good i will share with you some kleinur or vineterta, but you have to be good.. oh, on a side note, my grandma hilda has her brown bread recipe in this book they got her nome wrong (they called her helga, what the hell) poot..
Posted by larry at December 15, 2003 11:02 AMShe is indeed part of the culinary saga. This week is going to drag by like no other. I am trying like the Dickens to avoid the flu. You better get all that vegetarian shit out of your system before I get home - I want steaks on the grill, not eggplant in the oven.
Posted by: hicountry on December 15, 2003 11:32 AMman me too!!! everyone around me has been dropping to the flu. and i got a shot, but i hear that it is no good this year. shazaam!!!
my fingers are crossed. and i am taking my vitamins.
and yes, stevie, the winning hockey team gets a big shiny purple eggplant.
Posted by: anthony on December 15, 2003 11:46 AMTony,
What are you taking for vitamins? I pop two echinacea and vitamin C each day. I also try and wash my hands every chance I get. I hope that I make it.
Ugh. I spent this weekend with the flu. It was like the worst hangover for three days but now it's on the outs.
I wish I was going back to Minot for the holidays. I'd cook Stevie the best eggplant ever.
Posted by: Scott on December 15, 2003 01:48 PMDid I just say I wished I was going back to MINOT? Scratch that, the meds are getting to me.
Posted by: Scott on December 15, 2003 01:49 PMspeaking of meds, the oral surgen gave me a little something 'extra' because my lower wisdom teeth we're a b*tch to get out.
