oh, i forgot, the shane macgowen movie. it was great. a very, very irish movie, it was kind of sad actually. the guy was (kind of still is) brilliant, but years of alcohol and drug abuse have really taken their toll. the sad part is that most of the people around him (his longtime girlfriend) just accept it, and dont really expect anything to change, but i will let you watch it and form your own opinion. my opinion? the man is completely fuking insane..

Wow! My Shane McGowen translator is working great! I always thought he was talking Gaelic, but linguists recently discovered it's an entirely new form of language with it's own syntax! Simply amazing that man. It must be incredibly lonely to be the only speaker of a language though.
Did the Pogues kick him out or did he leave on his own accord? Maybe he just forgot he was in that band ...
Posted by: Scott on January 26, 2004 12:21 PMhe was kicked out of the pouges, he kind of talked them down, but they had a couple of the pouges in the movie, and they said that they still liked him, but you can only help someone so much.. he actually hangs out with the old pogues tour manager.. he looks pretty bad, and i imagine you might think that he was handicapped if you didnt know who he was..
Posted by: larry on January 26, 2004 01:09 PMI think you're right. The pictures of Shane that I've recently seen look real tough, like a violent and bloody car accident. You don't want to look but you do anyways. I would definatly think he was/is mentally handicapped.
