hey larry, it was -16 today when i left for work, colder than a witches tit you might say. anyway, did you know that if you blow bubbles (i have a kid, we have bubbles now) when it's this cold they will freeze almost instantly and you can pick them up? things you do when it's -16 below.

Another super cold trick:

Boil some water in a pan and take it outside. It'll freeze or evaporate before it hits the ground.

Too Tall Tom used to do that every time it got really cold out.

You have to throw the water out of the pan when you get outside. I forgot to mention that part.

I was just telling one my undergrad research assistants about these tricks and she didn't believe me.

SOMEONE TAKE PICTURES!!

i'll try and get some pictures posted on my site this weekend. the weatherman here are doing these tricks too. they seem to like the egg one, where it freezes solid in about 30 seconds, or if you leave it out for a few minutes it will freeze solid and break into a million pieces when you smash it. i did the bubble thing for people at work today and they were impressed. oh yeah, it was -22 today and the windchill is -45.
